Moving to cloud, or hybrid cloud has many benefits, such as flexibility, reduced management overhead and cost saving, but it also introduces complexity.
Maintaining visibility and control, managing costs as well as the user experience can be challenging.
Kytec can help you with your entire cloud journey – benchmarking, planning, migration, project management, cloud management and application and infrastructure optimisation. And because we’re experts in security, we make sure we monitor and manage risk and vulnerability in your environment.
As a Microsoft Gold Partner, Kytec can implement an Azure Cloud Infrastructure that’s customised to suit your needs.
Because every business is different in terms of where they’re at and where they want to be, we’d love to talk to you and better understand your requirements.

Hybrid Cloud Migration Services
Kytec can migrate your data to a more agile and flexible Hybrid Cloud infrastructure.
We offer a 24/7 Help Desk, Application Performance Management and Vulnerability Management.
Kytec can deliver traditional infrastructure where compute, storage and switching are discrete; converged infrastructure where compute and storage are combined and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) where compute, storage and switching are combined.
Converged and hyperconverged solutions allow for rapid scaling, simple deployment, simplified management and intelligent end to end automation.
Key Hybrid Cloud Design Criteria
- Optimising agility, flexibility and scalability
- Delivering optimal application performance
- Maintaining security and data protection
- Cost optimisation including leveraging existing infrastructure and effectively managing public cloud costs
Public Cloud Migration Services
Organisations can use public cloud for compute services, Platform as a Service, for example a database platform which can be customised or SaaS – Software as a Service solutions.
Public cloud services are becoming increasingly popular. There is no hardware investment required, only pay for consumption, excellent access to SAAS services, great DevOps platform and predictable monthly payments.
We offer a 24/7 Help Desk, Application Performance Management and Vulnerability Management.

Case Study: Westmead Institute of Medical Research
The Westmead Institute for Medical Research creates a huge amount of valuable information based on research and clinical studies and partnership with Kytec, has recently a hybrid cloud strategy which allows them to efficiently manage workloads in the cloud that were previously held on an on premises location while maintaining control over confidential patient data which remains on site.
Westmead is now an independent public company but has strong ties with Westmead Hospital in Western Sydney, where it is located, as well as the University of Sydney of which it is now a board member. It is a multidisciplinary research organisation that aims to improve health outcomes in a range of areas including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, HIV, melanoma, infection and many other disciplines.
Critical systems such as ERP, Payroll and HR were sitting within a University of Sydney environment. While this initially had cost and efficiency benefits, it was starting to limit Westmead’s control and the speed with which they could make changes. Westmead also wanted a stable infrastructure with greater visibility so they could more effectively manage their environment. And being a Microsoft 365 customer, a migration to Azure meant seamless access to a range of Microsoft services.
Usman Jawaid is the CIO for Westmead. “When we moved our University of Sydney tenancy to Microsoft Azure, we had the issue of lifting and shifting our legacy applications plus we had the challenge of convincing our management that cloud was the best way forward. For them it was a leap into the unknown. But at the end of the day, we are a business, albeit not for profit, so we need to maximise research with limited resources – time, money and people. Moving to cloud improved our efficiency and allowed us to do more with less.”
“Kytec managed our migration to Azure. They did an amazing job and pulled together a project team across Westmead, University of Sydney and Microsoft. Kytec was professional, worked to an agreed budget, a very short timeframe and quickly addressed any issues that came up along the way”.
When asked about advice for others, Usman emphasised that while cloud has definite benefits, it is not the right solution for every situation. This is why Westmead has adopted a hybrid approach – flexibility and efficiency for the majority of their business applications combined with on-premises management of extensive and valuable data which has significant privacy and security constraints.
“I recommend every organisation thinks about their own situation and does a cost benefit analysis before making a decision. Once you go to the cloud, it’s hard to come back”.
“Migrating to Azure has improved both the efficiency and flexibility of our operations and helped us fulfil our primary purpose of generating and managing research data more effectively. Kytec was a key partner and trusted advisor in both projects. Their process of engagement was professional and comprehensive. They took the time to understand our organisation, gather requirements, make recommendations, deploy and integrate the solutions and managed the testing process. It was like the Kytec team was part of our business”.
