Giving Back
At Kytec, we pride ourselves on being able to make an impact with our technical resources and highly skilled people. And now we are excited to be applying our skills and resources to support a philanthropic organisation, as part of our Giving Back strategy. To do this, we are working in collaboration with Blaze Your Trail, a social enterprise that facilitates migrants’ move into technology jobs.
Kytec is proud to be supporting Ocean Mind, based in Victoria, which is a fabulous organisation that uses surfing, the social connections around surfing and the natural environment of the beach to promote mental health for young people needing assistance.
The purpose of Ocean Mind is to create a sense of belonging and provide hope when life can feel at its darkest. The 6 week program is transformative. The young participants are matched with a mentor, but then also have the opportunity to become a mentor for future programs. 80-100 mentors are trained each year.
As with many not-for-profits, Ocean Mind found itself with a patchwork of technology platforms and
applications that resulted in inefficiency, wasted time and a handbrake on growth.
The Salesforce team at Kytec is working with Ocean Mind to deliver a CRM System (Salesforce) that will help Ocean Mind spend less time on admin, re-work and data entry and focus more on helping their program participants. The new platform will put all relevant information at the fingertips of the Ocean Mind staff and will also sensitively manage personal data.
With a single, common platform in place, Ocean Mind will be able to scale and support even more young people.
